From the overview, it’s clear that the right half of the building is replaced
by the grassland which the base of it made by the stacked recycled planks. The organic
shape of it show the flow of liquid and it also echoes the melted parts around it. There are several
curved glass plates on it to bring sunshine down to the room and also be more interesting that people can see the indoor scene through the glass. The project consider a lot about the circulation, so there are several pathway on it which directly connect with each activity space, in order to provide more route options.

These are two interior views of dome. The ideal of melting are not only reflected in the facade, but also in the ceiling inside. It is melted into liquid shape and gradually flows down. The spiral stairs in the middle are supported by lots of recycled metal pillars which welded on the ceiling. This method of hanging the stairs makes use of the internal space while trying not to disturb the original learning space.

Section View

From the section, it’s clear that the project has two different parts related to climate change. The upper parts represent one kind of the extreme climate which is heat waves, so the building above ground will melt gradually. The lower part is a underground swimming pool. After enjoying the sunshine on the grassland, people can come to the this place to relax further. The decoration inside also represent another kind of extreme climate which is cold waves, so there will have lots of lights in the shape of ice cones.

In the interior space on the right side, there are plenty of glass ball sticked on the wall. Each of balls will has a seed inside, which is similar to the UK Pavilion at Shanghai to represent hope after disasters.
